Terms & Conditions

Payment

As a General Rule in the line of Service Providers, we are a strictly "Payment-in-Advance" business.

This means that we expect payment to be made before we commence on any repair services requested of us.

We feel that it is only apparent that this is the correct sequence, as we have already provided the resources for our customers to make their informed decisions before looking for us, hence there is no negotiation in this regard.

We accept Cash, and some other modes of Payment including PayNow and NETS (limited to availability of the service).

Cost of Space / Storage

All goods left at the premise for servicing are given 1 month of rent free storage on top of the period required to complete the service. We will send a notification to the contact number provided by the customer to inform them of the completion and a follow-up reminder if the customer does not show up to collect the finished product. Upon expiry of the rent free period, we will impose a storage charge of $5 per day per cubic foot or part thereof, up to a maximum of 6 months or when the rental cost has exceeded, what is in our opinion, the market value (MSRP) of the finished goods. We will then proceed to dispose the finished goods to recover the storage cost owed by the customer.

Serviceable Condition

By default, parts need to be replaced for repair and replacement services, hence there will be opening of stitches and/or stitching done on the bag. In most if not all cases, it is inevitable that there will be evidence / traces showing that the bag has been repaired. The expert craftsman will endeavor to keep such evidence / traces to a bare minimum with their best ability. Customers shall take it in good faith that the craftsman has done their best or did what is best and accept the job as long as the bag is returned in a serviceable condition.

Color - Touch up

We can only reproduce colours that look new, together with its sheen and brilliance. Customers should be brought to attention that in choosing to touch-up specific areas of the bag, these areas and their surroundings will appear newer than the rest, resulting in an unevenness in overall colour. This is especially evident when the bag is well worn or dirty or possesses metallic colours. While the craftsman will strive to maintain the overall appearance of the bag, the result is subjective hence will not be put up for dispute.

The cost of a touch-up does not include cleaning or colouring the rest of the bag.  

Basic Cleaning

Involves the use of mild chemical(s) only. Stains or marks that are not removable by the mild chemicals are deemed stubborn and are not covered under basic cleaning.

PU leather and Vintage leather

As we utilise a special heavy duty industrial sewing machine for our stitching work, old and weak leather may not be able to endure the quality of our stitches. Unfortunately, in most cases, nobody can tell by looking or even feeling the leather. The risk is therefore with the customer if he/she so wishes to re-stitch damaged and/or weak parts of their leather bags. LeatherTechnic will mitigate the damage not amounting to re-coloring or replacing the damaged leather i.e. we will only touch up the damaged area. 

Receipt

Without exception, all receipts carry a validity of 1 Year (365 Days) from the date of issue.

Within the validity period, in the event of a misplaced / loss receipt, an administrative charge of $20 applies. Customers will have to furnish their particulars and have their photo taken. The release of the the goods is at the discretion of the company and upon clearance of all other applicable charges including but not limited to storage charges.

Maintenance Charges

Leather products need to be properly stored and periodically maintained to prolong its useful life. There is therefore a maintenace charge of $50 every quarter for leather products stored at the company beyond the rent free period.

Transfer

​​Transfer of item from 1 outlet to another is chargeable at $30 per transfer per item.

Refund

If work has not commenced, 30% of the payment due or $10, or whichever is higher, will be forfeited, as payment for the administrative fee and cost of manpower charges.

If work has commenced, 100% of the payment will be forfeited, as payment for the administrative fee and cost of manpower charges. Work which has been performed will not be re-instated - there will not be any undoing of work regardless of how much or how little.

The aforementioned shall be non-negotiable, as we expect our customers to understand that every minute we spend on their items is a minute that could have been spent working on another customer's possession.
